2013 Already!!!

I have not been blogging and it shows!!! Part of my new resolution will be to try to participate more in the blogging world, although I think it will be difficult. I have discovered recently that I have been spending more time on the computer, instead of designing and creating....I need to find a balance somehow.
'Cause I really would prefer to rug hook and create.
Of recent news, I have just joined Old Farmhouse Gathering, a team forum on Etsy.com. To find designs and creations of these very talented people, just type in OFG Team in the search line.
They are a happy group and I am looking forward to having fun with them.
Must leave for now, gotta go feed my babies(the critters). Have a nice day!

Ok I am the first to admit that I am not good at blogging. I do have a new wool I created:
I call it Antique Tin

I think it is awesome for a background and critters. Go to my website for all of my wonderful wools and kits.
http://www.lacejaneprims.com/.

The holidays are upon us and I have been busy making some Christmas like things.

Be sure to go to http://www.pfattmarketplace.com/ on the 10th to view mine and my other Pfatt sisters newest creations.

Also, I have added some bracelets I created in my Etsy shop.  http://www.etsy.com/shop/LaceyJane

This one is a Christmas charm bracelet made with lampwork trees and candy. It comes with it's own handmade pouch which can be used for other things, like maybe a coin purse. The bracelet is completely adjustable for any size wrist and is made of silver and silver plate. Each bracelet is signed and numbered.

Today is cold, cloudy and windy! Great for staying inside and working in my studio.

Once again I will try to update my blog more often, so until next time......Be safe and hope you have wonderful holidays!

OK - I am so tired of being hot! Ready for October, NOW
Anyway - just published my newsletter and decided to post if here as well.

Well, it has been since March that I sent out a newsletter to all my wonderful customers. I have to confess, this summer heat is  ghastly, 113 degrees in the shade! Dyeing wool has been difficult but I have managed to add a couple of new wools.
I invite you to go look at my new website, designed by my awesome webmaster, Sally Van Nuys of High Time Design. You can pick up her link on my website, I encourage anyone with a small business that wants a presence on the web to go check her out. Sally is an artist with a keen eye for all of us little people.
I have been very busy with Create and Decorate this summer and all of my contributions are on my website.

August

I know it has been awhile, but have been busy rug hooking. I have a hard time dividing my time between rug hooking or doing computer work.
Anyway
The newest issue for Create and Decorate, August 2011, will be on newstands next week. If you see it, pick it up. It is totally awesome!!!!
And my latest project - Flag Bunting Rug - is in there! It measures about 18" wide by 35" long and would make a wonderful rug for your home or for a friend. My webmaster will be loading the wools and kit on my website this week.
To see the rug, go to www.createanddecorate.com. It is right there on the 1st page. Kewl huh?
Hope everyone has a great summer.

Easter is upon us!!!! EEK!!!!!

My niecelet Nikki made this wonderful doll from lace, material, cardboard, wood, yarn, tinsel and masking tape. Oh! and my Fabrico markers.
Isn't she awesome???? My niecelet is 14 years and a budding artist. She was browsing thru one of my many magazines and suddenly popped up, started drawing in her journal and then was buzzing all over my studio looking for stuff she could use. Very creative and also a first time doll.
What do you think?
Sunny here today, collecting dyestuffs from nature. Will start dyeing my Garden Wools again soon. Been harvesting all winter and now that spring is here, lotsa stuff to collect. Can't wait to start!
Hope everyone is having a lovely day, enjoy and stay safe.

March Already

And I am so behind!!!
Today I am dyeing wool for about 8 orders. And I will be assembling those orders. What fun!!!
I have also taken a part time job at the local bait & tackle shop. That is why I have not been here. Things are starting to really get busy, it is fishing season!
It is a beautiful day here today, which is so inspiring, I have a couple of projects waiting in the wings, if I can ever find the time.
Have a beautiful day!

Week of August 6th News

Today is hot! 104 Degrees hot! In the shade!!!!
Everything is wilted including the girls, we are all moving slow. The heat just takes your breath away.
I received my latest issue of Create and Decorate, October 2010 issue. My friend Denise White of The Cat's Pyjamas has a wonderful bat she has made. I have already traced the pattern to make some for my friends!!!!!
Also my webmaster Sally Van Nuys has her continuing article about beginning primitive rug hooking. Great piece and lots of information. Then you gotta see her rug hooking project using an antique sieve. Very creative. I think this is one of the best issues yet. Lots of Halloween and Fall ideas.
I have a project in it as well. Called it 'Cabin In The Sky' using all of my rug hooking strips leftover from other projects.
It will be on the magazine stands really soon.
Here is a sneak peek.......

I hope you guys have a great weekend!!!!! Stay Safe

Epiphany!!!

I had an epiphany a while ago and now I am finally able to actually use it. I have found four crockpots, the really old ones we put in garage sales, around the country side. Cleaned them up and they are all loaded with dye and wool. I found that I can turn to high, let simmer boil for a while and then add vinegar. Is that kewl or what??? Now I don't have to search for vintage white enameled stock pots or buy stainless steel pots just for dyeing......and it does not heat up my kitchen!
I'm loving this.......and wanted to share this neat idea with my wool friends!

Miss October 31st!!!!

Hot hot hot here in the country and hard to think fall & winter, but Halloween always gets me going!
Go to Ebay and type in "PFATT" in the search box, hit enter. Lots and lots of wonderful offerings from awesome artists!

Ramblings

My niecelets and I went to the Kirby Hooking Circle Hook-In in Houston, Tx. We had so much fun and everyone was wonderful!!!!! The pic here is the vendor booth we built.

And for fun (and nothing to do with the hook-in) is a pic of one of my many antique sewing machines. This one is a hand crank Singer with beautiful decals, dating from approx. 1890's. It still works! The cover (just behind the machine) is a coffin wooden cover. A great piece of history in America!
Enjoy your day
