Pics from Broaddus Cemetary

Here are the promised pics from the Homecoming:
This pic is from a grave my family calls Baby Dove. All we know about the little boy who died in the 1920's. We always put flowers there.

Here is a pic of my brother's tombstone.

This is my beloved nephew's. He was in the tractor business and loved it!

I love this one - it is pointing to heaven! There were lots more I took pics of, but I think these were the most interesting. Stay well everyone....

Homecoming in Broaddus!

Today is homecoming - a day set aside each year to clean and repair the Broaddus Cemetary. Don't know why it is called Homecoming - been that way all my life. Anyway, people come from everywhere to help clean and spruce up the cemetary. At noon, there is a big spread, time to visit, take pictures and share. I am going with my family to clean our kinfolks grave sites and put in fresh silk flowers. Taking my camera - I want pics of the really old tombstones, and will share these with you guys tonite.
The weather is nice - high predicted for 80 degrees - should be a great day for fellowship!
Stay tuned......

Today at 4:18 CST Autumnal Equinox

Just found this out:

THE AUTUMNAL EQUINOX ARRIVES AT 418 PM CENTRAL DAYLIGHT TIME DURING SEPTEMBER 22ND. SIMPLY SPEAKING... THE AUTUMNAL EQUINOX IS THE MOMENT THE SUN'S APPARENT PATH CROSSES THE EARTH'S EQUATOR INTO THE SOUTHERN HEMISPHERE. AN EQUINOX MAY ALSO BE DEFINED WHEN THE TILT OF THE EARTH'S AXIS IS INCLINED NOT AWAY FROM THE SUN NOR TOWARDS THE SUN... AND HENCE THE SUN POSITIONED DIRECTLY OVERHEAD AT A POINT ON THE EARTH'S EQUATOR

Kewl Huh!!!!! Happy Happy

Out of the Studio

I was out of the studio yesterday!!! Helped a friend clean up his little acre. We spent about 6 hours of mowing, weed eating and general cleanup. Afterwards, we sat in the tool trailer and relaxed. I had brought up a pitcher of margaritas and we enjoyed the fading light, with a thunderstorm on the horizon.
Today - working in the studio - got a deadline for the magazine and also working on some Halloween creations.
Have a great day!!!!
Off to work!!!
